More Paper Craft Fun

This is a cute little tree that I saw on Jan Tink's website on one of her projects - so I cased it and made some changes. She used a sequin star but I had the little star punch (from some craft store many years ago) that seemed to be just right. I also had some scraps of crimped Garden Green card stock that gave it a different look. The tree is made using the Scallop Circle from Stampin' Up and the 1/8 inch hole punches. A friend came over to start a Christmas scrapbook for her mother and she made about 10 of these colorful trees to use on some of the pages.

Then another idea came to me. We didn't get any snow but our friends to the south of us did and they were all posting about it so I made a little snow covered tree. I colored in the white using a gel pen and then added Stickles (diamond) to give it some sparkle. I have a picture of the girls when they were about 5 and 6 standing in front of a snow covered tree with their treats from Santa. I think that would be cute framed with this little tree in the corner on the glass.

After cutting out the pieces for the tree on a Scallop Circle there is one little piece left that has 2 scallops - so to not be wasteful I made up a sample scrapbook page for St Patrick's Day. I stamped the background with the Teeny Tiny Words stamp that says Happy St Patrick's Day. I made the stems using my Garden Green marker. Now I just need a couple pictures of some leprechauns. :-)

I've also been making some cards - Easter Easel cards for our SU Club in March.
This was my first attempt. I like it but it is not my favorite. The Easter Easel cards all use the Abundant Hope stamp set which can be found in the Mini Occasions catalog. I just love the dafodils! This one is on Sahara Sand with Orchid Opulence as the background for the dafodils. The image and saying are stamped on Very Vanilla using Basic Brown and the ribbon I think is Lovely Lilac (I got it in a grab bag type purchase on E-Bay). I colored all the images using the Watercolor Pencils and a blender pen.
This was another attempt - it uses YoYo Yellow, Tempting Turquoise and Green Galore card stock. The ribbon is YoYo Yellow.

This one is a little different. I made the dafodils purple :-) I used So Saffron, Sahara Sand,Very Vanilla and Ballet Blue card stock, and Lovely Lilac ribbon. Punches used were the ticket corner punch, photo corner punch and the 1/2 inch circle punch.
This is my favorite. I sued Sage Shadow, So Saffron, Very Vanilla and Bashful Blue card stock. Punches used were the ticket corner punch and the modern label punch. I used Basic Brown ink.

The technique for the dafodils is called spotlighting. The image on the card was stamped in Basic Brown and left uncolored. I stamped a second image and colored it with the Watercolor Pencils and a blender pen. Then I used the 1 3/8 inch circle punch and punched out an arear around one of the flowers. I attached the circle to the uncolored image using dimensionals and lining up the image. This is the one we will make at club in March :-)

I really like the green/blue Easter card where you tore the picture at the bottom. Very nice! Although really they all look good!
