Card Club Designs

These are two designs for the Card Club on Saturday.  For #3 I will be casing a card we made at the regional conference.

This card features the Summer Smooches DSP.  There are so many bright designs, how can you not love it ??   Stamp sets used are Flower Fest (retiring June 1) and On Your Birthday. I CASED this card from Connie Babbert at Inkspired Treasures.

This is a small gift card using the Kindness Matters stamp set and the diagonal scoring plate to make the envelope.  I also put a square of Very Vanilla on the back of the gift card to write a short note and sign the card.

As I said the third card is one we made at the regional conference.  I still have to get my 'version' finalized :-)   I'll post it after Card Club - don't want to ruin the surprise.

Retiring Hostess Sets

The hostess sets in the current catalog will also be retiring on June 1. I have really enjoyed some of those (of course I have almost all of them!)

Simply Soft is a nice two step stamp set. Here I used one of the flower outline stamps and Soft Suede ink to make a background in various shades of brown.  I stamped numerous times on the Whisper White without reinking.   After letting it dry thoroughly, I ran it through the Big Shot using the Snowflake embossing folder.    I stamped the complete image (outline in Soft Suede and flowers in Wisteria Wonder) for my focal image.   Embellished with Soft Suede ribbon and an IN Color brad - it makes a very nice blank note card.

Another of the floral designs in the Simply Soft set. I used Regal Rose and Soft Suede for this card.  The floral outlines were stamped in Soft Suede and then on the 'focal' ones I added the Regal Rose flowers.  I then added a drop of Crystal Effects on the individual flowers.  (Hard to see in the photo but it really made the flowers POP).  Some sponging with Soft Suede and a Soft Suede ribbon with a rhinestone finish the card

Here I just did random flowers using Basic Grey for the outline and Wisteria Wonder for the flowers.  The card stock is Wisteria Wonder and Certainly Celery.  A Certainly Celery ribbon with the IN Color brad embellish this simple card.

This is a set I imagine I will hold onto - and use for my own personal cardmaking.

Retiring stamp sets

Just sharing a few cards I made in the past with a couple stamp sets that are retiring June 1.


Vintage Vogue - the larger flower was stamped and cut out of a scrap of paper. I curled the petals using my paper piercer.


Flower Fest - for this one I stamped the images randomly using Basic Gray. Then using a cotton ball and the chalk pastels I added color to match the images.


Flower Fest - this is much bolder. Stamped with Stazon Black and then used sponges and ink pads to 'burnish' color on the images.

I will hate to see both of these go but looking forward to seeing the new sets!

Reitring stamps - Greenhouse Garden

A large number of Stampin Up stamp sets will be retiring on June 1. Between now and then I will highlight a few of these sets on my blog. Don't miss out - if you like them, you need to order them soon.

The first one is Greenhouse Garden. This is a two-step stamp set. You stamp the background image and them stamp the detail over that. Some two step sets take a lot of patience and the Stamp-a-ma-jig to get them lined up but this set is very forgiving. I rarely worry about lining up the second image and it almost always comes out looking fine.


This card was from the Faux Silk technique class. I used Tangerine Tango for the background and Cajun Craze for the detail stamp.
The sentiment is from Thoughts and Prayers.


This was a fun card I made to use up some Blue Bayou ribbon that I had. The larger flowers are More Mustard overstamped with Cajun Craze. The smaller flowers are Blue Bayou overstamped with Not Quite Navy. The sentiment is from Bring on the Cake.


This was a fun card we did for one of our clubs. Inks used were Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, More Mustard, Cajun Crase, Tangerine Tango, Early espresso. I have a tutorial posted at Tri-Fold Card which shows this same card in pinks and blues.
The sentiment on this card is from Herb Expressions which is another retiring set. More of that on my next post maybe.
